Professor Jonathan Bullen is a Nyoongar (Wardandi) man from the south-west of Western Australia and Deputy Vice-Chancellor Indigenous at Griffith University. Previously he was Associate Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic, Indigenous Advancement at Curtin University. He was also Chair of Curtin’s Indigenous Leadership Group, an Associate Professor within Curtin’s Faculty of Health Sciences and a Future Health Research & Innovation Translation Fellow.
Professor Bullen’s educational research has focused on the development of non-Indigenous health professional’s capabilities to effectively work with Indigenous Australians in health contexts. He also has a strong research focus on associations between the physiological and psychological health of Indigenous Australians. Since 2021, he has attracted over $24 million as an investigator on national ARC, NHRMC and MRFF projects focused on Indigenous health and wellbeing.
Besides the ARC Indigenous Forum, Professor Bullen sits on the Board of an ARC Training Centre for Healing Country.
