Dr Margaret Law, Naval Group Australia Pty Ltd

Dr Margaret Law has over 22 years of defence industry experience in innovation, science and technology where she has held a range of roles at senior levels delivering business outcomes underpinned by her ability to connect defence needs to innovation, science and technology initiatives.  

Dr Law's current role at Naval Group Australia will see her take on the challenge of establishing an industry focussed innovation program as part of the development of Australian industry capability. Dr Law’s expertise in research management, fostering collaboration and stakeholder engagement will ensure the successful integration of the research and capability outcomes into the Future Submarine design and build program.  

Previously, Dr Law lead ASC Pty Ltd’s Science and Technology program, establishing a structured innovation program aligned with the business needs, involving collaborations across defence, industry, academia and research organisations, managing across the Submarine and Shipbuilding Business units. 

Dr Law has served as a Director on the Board of the Defence Teaming Centre, been a member of several academic industry advisory boards and is a recent alumni of the Future Industry Leaders Fund. Dr Law’s achievements were recognised in 2013 with her selection as a State Finalist for the South Australian Telstra Business Women’s Award. 

Dr Law’s extensive career has seen her excel at delivering organisational change and transformation through participation in research and development activities, with a focus on translational research and impact. Dr Law's ability to interact across all levels of defence and industry has ensured a clear value proposition for the research partner, industry technology partner and the defence end user.
