Persistent Identifier (PID) Action Plan

The ARC Persistent Identifier (PID) Action Plan outlines initiatives to strengthen the use of persistent identifiers across ARC-funded research to improve tracking, interoperability, and research impact.

The PID Action Plan has five goals: 

  • Goal 1: ARC grants have a Digital Object Identifier (DOI)
  • Goal 2: All Administering Organisations applying for an ARC grant have a Research Organisation Registry (ROR) identifier
  • Goal 3: All named personnel have an Open Researcher and Contributor ID (ORCID) and supply it during the establishment phase of ARC awarded grants
  • Goal 4: ARC’s Research Management System (RMS) ORCID integration ‘writes’ back to ORCID
  • Goal 5: ARC has a FAIR Data Policy
