Towards a more trusted, collaborative and connected research system - ARC and NHMRC joint communiqué

The Australian Research Council (ARC) and the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) met in Canberra on 12 August 2026 for a landmark joint workshop bringing together the ARC Board and NHMRC Council, along with the CEOs and other senior officials from the agencies. This joint communiqué outlines how the ARC and NHMRC will work together to strengthen trust in research, reform assessment processes, and invest in cross-disciplinary collaboration to address national challenges.
