Industrial Transformation Training Centres

For information on recently announced grant outcomes under the Industrial Transformation Training Centres scheme please visit the following pages:

The Industrial Transformation Training Centres scheme provides funding for partnerships between university based researchers and those in industry. Training Centres provide Higher Degree by Research (HDR) and postdoctoral training for industries vital to Australia's future.

Applicants should read the Grant Guidelines and Grant Agreements. Grants from the ARC are made to organisations, not individual researchers or research teams and Eligible Organisations are listed in the Grant Guidelines.

Program objectives

The objectives of the Industrial Transformation Research Centres Program are to:

  • support HDR candidates and postdoctoral researchers to undertake industrial training;
  • support research collaboration between universities and organisations outside the Australian higher education sector; and
  • strengthen the capabilities of industry and research end-users in identified Industrial Transformation Priority areas.

The intended outcomes of the Training Centres scheme are:

  • growth, productivity and competitiveness within Industrial Transformation Priorities; and
  • economic, commercial and social transformation.

Who is this for?

The Industrial Transformation Research Program (ITRP) supports university researchers to partner with industry in priority areas for Australia.  Training Centres support Higher Degree by Research (HDR) students and postdoctoral researchers gain practical skills and experience through placements with industry.

How do I apply?

University Research Offices manage applications for any ARC scheme. Interested researchers should contact the relevant Research Office who will assist in preparing and submitting an application through the ARC’s Research Management System.

How do I find out more?

The Grant Guidelines provide further detail on the schemes, including eligibility requirements and assessment criteria. These are published on Grant Connect.
