Industry Fellowships Schemes: assessor scores and assessments feedback
Industry Fellowships Schemes: assessor scores and assessments feedback
One of the Australian Research Council's (ARC) priorities, as outlined in the ARC Strategy 2022-2025, is to build opportunities for engagement with researchers and to listen to their needs.
We have heard researchers’ feedback on the importance of providing more information about the ARC’s grant assessment processes, and as a result, we’re trialling a new process.
As part of the announcement of the three Industry Fellowships Schemes, the ARC will provide unsuccessful applicants with extra details about their results.
Commencing with the Mid-Career Fellowships scheme announcement, unsuccessful applicants will be able to access their scores within the Research Management System, along with their detailed assessments.
Specifically, unsuccessful applicants will receive the following information:
- Detailed Assessors’ scores, assessments and rankings
- General Assessors’ scores and rankings
- Banded feedback
- Selection Advisory Committee feedback
In keeping with peer review principles, assessors will remain anonymous.
The ARC recognises that unsuccessful applicants will benefit from feedback to identify areas of improvement for future applications.
The ARC has worked with university research offices to support the implementation of this initiative. Further details on how unsuccessful applicants can access their and assessments will be announced soon.
