Grants calendar to provide greater certainty for research sector

Australian researchers can have greater clarity in the timing of competitive grant rounds and the announcement of grant outcomes with the release today of the Australian Research Council’s (ARC) grant calendar for the remainder of the 2022-23 financial year.

Following consultation with the research sector, the ARC has produced a calendar which identifies more specific timeframes within which grant announcements will occur. The new calendar specifies the fortnight in which an announcement is expected, which is a more specific timeframe than the quarterly timeframes used previously.  

The calendar provides this new certainty for all ARC programs under the National Competitive Grants Program (NCGP) for the coming twelve months.

ARC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ms Judi Zielke said the calendar will provide more transparency and certainty for those seeking grant funding through the ARC.

“At the ARC we recognise how important it is for researchers, universities, and research partners to be able to plan around the timing of grant rounds - particularly the announcement of successful outcomes,” Ms Zielke said.

“I am pleased to be able to release this calendar as part of the ARC’s commitment to transparency and accountability for the sector.”
