Dr Judith Bishop, Appen
Dr Judith Bishop is Director of Linguistic Services at Appen. Dr Bishop has a Master of Philosophy in European Literature (French) from the University of Cambridge, a Master of Fine Arts in Writing (Poetry) from Washington University in St Louis, and a Doctor of Linguistics from The University of Melbourne. Dr Bishop's poems have won several awards, including the Australian Book Review Peter Porter Poetry Prize (2006 and 2011), and was long-listed in the 2018 Calibre Essay Prize. Dr Bishop has published two full-length collections of poetry: Interval (UQP, 2018) and Event (Salt, 2007), which won the Anne Elder Award (2008) and was shortlisted for the Judith Wright Calanthe Prize for Poetry, the ASAL Mary Gilmore Award, and the C.J. Dennis Prize for Poetry. Dr Bishop's other publications include translations of French poetry and scholarly articles and reviews.
