ARC boosts Research Infrastructure
The Australian Research Council (ARC) invites applications for research equipment and infrastructure to support excellent basic and applied research and research training. Applications for the Linkage Infrastructure, Equipment and Facilities scheme will open Wednesday, 30 March 2022 and close 1 June 2022.
Eligible institutions can seek ARC funding for infrastructure, equipment and facility purchases, construction and installation, infrastructure leases or consortium costs, specialised computing facilities and software, or compilations, catalogues, clearing houses or bibliographies.
ARC acting Chief Executive Officer, Ms Judi Zielke PSM, said she was looking forward to seeing applications which demonstrated collaboration toward excellent basic and applied research.
‘Quality research infrastructure is critical to Australia’s research and development system,’ Ms Zielke said
‘ARC is proud to provide funding for research infrastructure necessary to deliver high quality research and innovation outcomes, to improve national wellbeing, and to enable Australian researchers to address key national and global challenges.’
LIEF funding recipients are required to plan for the use of the proposed research infrastructure, including proposed arrangements for broader access to individuals not named on the funded LIEF application, and the alignment of this planned use with other similar existing infrastructure within Australia and/or internationally.
Further information about the Linkage Infrastructure, Equipment and Facilities scheme including important dates is available on the ARC website.
