ARC invites collaboration with Industry
The Australian Research Council (ARC) maintains its commitment to supporting researchers who collaborate with industry, business and community organisations to solve global challenges. Applications for ARC Linkage Projects 2022 Round One will open Thursday, 31 March 2022 and close 1 August 2022.
The Linkage Program promotes national and international research partnerships between researchers and business, industry, community organisations. By supporting these partnerships, the ARC encourages the transfer of skills, knowledge and ideas to allow commercial applications and other real-world benefits of research.
ARC acting Chief Executive Officer, Ms Judi Zielke PSM, said she welcomed the collaboration the Linkage program allows.
‘I encourage industry partners and research organisations to think about what the opportunities are for them in this round and look forward to seeing applications which show the very best of cooperation in the national interest,’ Ms Zielke said.
‘Applications should support long-term strategic research alliances between higher education organisations and industry and other research end-users; provide opportunities for internationally competitive projects in collaboration with organisations outside the higher education sector; and enhance the scale and focus of research in Australian Government priority areas,’ she said
‘In addition, opportunities to address Government policies, particularly the National Manufacturing Priorities (NMP) will be taken into consideration when assessing applications and their potential for future economic development in Australia.’
Partners must make a significant cash and/or in-kind contribution to the project. ARC funding is awarded on a basis of a competitive process and rigorous peer reviewed assessment to support the highest-quality researchers and research projects across disciplines.
