Earlier this month, the ARC announced the membership of the Indigenous Studies Excellence and Engagement (ISEE) Group. The ISEE Group will co-design and promote strategies for sector-wide leadership in applying the Indigenous Studies Fields of Research (FoR) in Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) in 2023 and the Engagement and Impact (EI) Assessment in 2024, and encourage and support Indigenous researchers to participate in submission and assessment processes.

The ISEE Group is co-chaired by Professor Lisa Jackson Pulver, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Indigenous Strategy and Services, The University of Sydney, and Professor Bronwyn Harch, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) and Vice President (Research and Innovation), The University of Queensland. Members include Indigenous research leaders, university research leaders, university delegates, university administrators and the ARC.
The work of the ISEE Group addresses a key recommendation of the ERA and EI Review for the ARC to work with universities on leadership in implementing the Indigenous Studies FoR in ERA 2023 and EI 2024. The ARC is committed to implementing all recommendations from the review, as outlined in the Final Report and Action Plan.

Further information about the ISEE Group is available on Indigenous studies FoR page

For more information about the review outcomes and ARC activities related to ERA 2023 and EI 2024, please visit the ARC website or contact the ERA Helpdesk on 02 6287 6755 or ERA@arc.gov.au

The ARC is working closely with stakeholders to raise awareness of the new discipline and how it will be implemented in ERA and EI.
